TeacherTool (extra setup)

if we want to grant access to the Teacher Tool (class control tool) to some teacher and their accounts we must follow these instructions by added new teachers group and put some new teachers accounts into this group... see HowTo section in the bottom of the link : http://www3.telus.net/public/robark/Fl_TeacherTool/

With FC6+ This step is required to enable support for the Monitor and Control feature.

Edit the file /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf Find the line X4_MODULE_01=glx. On the next line insert: X4_MODULE_02 = vnc Now you'll have to make a password for the vnc-session. Run this command as root: #/usr/bin/vncpasswd Choose a password (123456) and copy the password file into the ltsp-tree #cp -R -p /root/.vnc /opt/ltsp/i386/root/

Running Daemons

Disable Beagle & Kerry (/usr/share/autostart , /etc/skel/...) after all packages installed, check /usr/share/autostart to see what needs to be disabled

when installing Firefox 2 at /usr/local/firefox2. we can copy all extensions from one user (sandbox) to the new firefox extensions folder and change permissions to full read/write/exec on this folder and then copy extensions.ini (after modifying it to point to the new shared location) to all users (drag&drop)
